代禱事項

1.    Membership Transfers – We are pleased that Kim Kiaw Looi and Jennifer (Jenny) Wong are joining the Newbern church family. Praise the Lord that our family continues to grow!

2.   Mother’s Day is next Sunday. We will have a special song and a gift for each mother. Please invite your mom to this service!

3.   Offering Envelope – Please remember to write down your offering amount on the envelope for recording purposes.

4.    A Post-Baptismal Class catering to ALL who were baptised in the past three years is coming soon. Details will be worked out and announced. Please speak to Pastor Vincent if interested.

5.   May 4th, 2011 Wednesday at 7:30pm will be the sent off meeting for Newbern’s B.C. interior STM team.

7.   Everyone Is Welcome to the "Upper Room" prayer meeting, every Sunday, from 12:30 to 12:45pm. Let us all focus on praying and hearing God’s will and His heart.

9.    Hugh Halter – On Wednesday, May 18th, 7:30pm, you are invited to meet Hugh Halter, co-author of “The Tangible Kingdom”, at the Langley Events Centre – 7888 200th Street. Hugh will be speaking at the Canadian Pacific District Conference and will be hosting a public session. Hugh’s newest book “AND” deals with what it looks like to be the Church gathered and the Church scattered. Along with being a speaker and author, Hugh is a pastor to a congregational network of Missional communities in Denver and the National Director of Missio. Admission is free.

 10.     With Election Decisions Ahead, we would like to encourage the Joshua congregation to invite God to work in the hearts and minds of all Canadians as we consider the future of our country. We believe that important issues are at stake in this election. Canada needs strengthened families and secure marriages. Canada needs to protect its most vulnerable – children, those living in poverty, the homeless, the unborn, and the disabled. Canada needs to share its blessings with the world, especially meeting commitments made to foreign relief and development work. And Canada needs to secure its foundation for the free belief and practice of religion.

Pray for candidates

Elections are times for candidates to discover what is important to their constituents. Pray that candidates’ eyes will be open to the values that are vital to a healthy and productive society. Pray that candidates and their families will experience protection, wisdom and grace during this time of great stress for them.

Pray for voters

Pray that voters will focus on the issues of central importance for building a just nation and that every potential voter will cherish and exercise the right to vote.

Pray for a mission

Pray that God will lead us into a greater understanding of our role as citizens, and of our life together as a nation.

1.     歡迎及多謝前建道神學院院長張慕皚牧師今早在本堂證道。

2.     GSF福音勇士訓練班，今天5月1日及8日下午1:30至4:30，由短宣中心陳國柱弟兄主講，敬請參加了“生命宣教佈道團”及短宣隊之弟兄姊妹準時出席，並自備午膳。

3.    BC內陸短宣隊出發誓師禱告會定於5月4日星期三晚7:30舉行邀請眾弟兄姊妹踴躍出席以禱告鼓勵及支持12位短宣隊員，讓他們帶著傳福音的熱忱及能力為主作工。

4.    5月8日母親節主日:當日邀請特別講員，有兒童主日學獻詩及派禮物給各母親，請帶同母親出席下主日聚會。

5.   今年本堂短宣隊出發日期:   －  6月5-12日－「阿拉斯加英文短宣隊」－現有6位參加
  報名及查詢，請聯絡英文部吳牧師。
 － ７月22日-8月1日－「巴拿馬短宣隊」－現有3位參加報名截止日期:6月5日
 每一個參加短宣隊的弟兄姊妹，教會會支助20%旅費；有經濟困難者亦可申請教會額外資助，查詢張永賢長老。

6.     ”歲月黃金開心宴”: 一個特別為長者而設的福音聚餐晚會，定於5月21日星期六晚上教會舉行；6時聚餐，晚會7時30分開始；當晚節目豐富，特別邀請短宣中心頌主粵曲小姐帶領粵曲獻唱及話劇表演，更有遊戲及信息分享…等。60歲或以上長者費用全免，但需報名，請邀請未信長者參加，餐位有限，請在大堂外簽名及索取餐券，查詢：伍麗娟姊妹或張永賢長老。

7.     鼓勵奉獻支持宣教士及短宣隊，建議每月$20或以上(十一奉獻以外)，請在奉獻封上註明“宣教”奉獻。

會友部報告：
1.　  全教會分區家聚：5月1 日（今天）晚上6時為分區家聚，請每家帶備一款菜餚出席。活動分4組：兩組溫哥華、一組列治文、一組本拿比，地點及分組名單巳張貼於大堂外，請在名單旁空格填上出席人數，若未能出席，請填上“0”表示，方便負責人預備白飯。如有任何問題請與Kenny簡冠盈長老聯絡。

2.　王靜雲弟兄（即祝慧鈺丈夫）於四月廿五日（上星期一）約下午三時息勞歸主，其安息禮拜定於五月五日（星期四）下午一時正舉行，地點：孟碧珊世界殯儀館(306 East 11th Ave., Van.).家人會在五月四日(星期三)下午四時至六時有守夜時間，若不能出席安息禮拜，也可於當晚前來慰問。

契部報告：
 1.    “福樂坊”5月4日(本週三)，“母親節聯歡會”歡 迎邀請朋友    參加！“福樂坊”對象為教會鄰近的長者   及退休人仕，提供康樂  活動之餘，更有些福音性預   工，請大家幫忙宣傳及推介。

 2.　 以利亞團契將於5月底、6月初舉行外展雙週。5月27號晚上8時假David Thompson Secondary School   舉行運動之夜（地址：1755 55 Avenue East,  Vancouver,    BC V5P 1Z7, Canada），6月3日晚上8時則於教會舉   行福音電影晚會，誠邀各位帶同適齡親友參與。

 主日學部報告：
 1.　成人主日學部:新一季主日將會合班給老師們休息，   現已請到加拿大家庭更新協會機構前來主領六個課堂，
   "幸福溫馨家庭面面觀"。日期由5月8日至6月19   日。報名在外面佈告板登記。
